Media Advisory - SAFE Work NL’s – Who Wants to Save a Life
Monday, April 26, 2010
MEDIA ADVISORY
April 26, 2010
St. John’s, NL
– Booth Memorial High of St. John’s and Jane Collins Academy of Hare Bay will square off in the Central/Eastern semi-final game of SAFE Work NL’s –
Who Wants to Save a Life
, at 10:00 am on Tuesday, April 27, at the St. John’s Holiday Inn.
In the past five years over 5,000 young workers between the ages of 15 and 24 have been injured on the job in Newfoundland and Labrador, and three young workers have died. By enhancing education and awareness, we are helping ensure young workers find a safer way to perform potentially harmful tasks on the job.
The winner of this semi-final game will compete against E.A. Butler All-Grade School of McKays in the grand finale on May 18 at the Gordon Pinsent Centre for the Arts in Grand Falls-Windsor, for $15,000 in scholarships.
