Psychosocial Risk Factors Intervention

Disability prevention programs specifically designed to target psychosocial risk factors for pain and disability. Approaches are designed to increase activity levels over the course of a specified period of time and tailored to meet the rehabilitation needs of the individual Injured Worker. Ideally, participants in PRFIs should be between 6 and 12 weeks post-injury and have return to work plans in place whether it be RTW in pre-injury, or Labour  Market Re-entry (LMR) planning. The program should be provided by a Licensed Practitioner who is specifically trained in providing psychosocial interventions and within the scope of practice of the Licensed Practitioner.
